And...WTF?

I want to know what makes some people crazy. I don't mean loony bin crazy, or even crazy in a medical way. I mean crazy in that psycho, manipulative, 'Excuse me? Did I hear you right?' kind of crazy.

The mother is that kind of crazy. The mother, last March, severed all contact with me because... well, she gave me a choice between her or the father, and after years fighting for my mother, I thought maybe I would give the father a try. I have no regretted this decision. Most of me, most of my life, suspected that I would not, and I was right.

This school year, my financial aid was some serious drama. Like whoa. I had to switch my information over to my dad's, and then my school didn't believe me, and then I had to contact the IRS to get my tax forms that the mother had in her possession... and a multitude of other crap that left me almost without a way to pay for this semester. And anyone who knows me, knows that school is everything.

So yesterday, the mother sends me an e-mail, asking me if she could claim me as a dependant for 2007, and then I could use her information for 2008-2009. You know, after I went though all that trouble of switching it to my father's information and all.

Which was the WTF moment.

But wait, it gets BETTER. So I talked to the stepmother, and it turns out that--at least in my state--when students get aid from the government, with their parents putting the information on their taxes, they get a hefty sum of money in return. Something my mother previously left me blissfully ignorant about until...today.

So... she wants to claim me, even though I haven't so much as seen her since MARCH, so she can get a couple of grand... and go shopping.

See? Crazy.
